Consultants are serious Excel and PowerPoint fans often combining the two by including Excel content into PowerPoint in the form of bar graphs and pie charts. However, Excel’s default formatting for graphs is lacking, resulting in charts that are dull, monochromatic and largely uninspiring. This is unfortunate, because it is critical that our presentations engage the client and keep them interested in the message being delivered.

Over at the slog, a very useful post describes in 3 easy steps how to transform Excel chart eye sores into Apple-esque eye candy. To be sure, we’re talking about moving from the bar graph and pie charts on the left of the image to those on the right.
Once you have saved these charts as a custom chart type, these snazzy charts will only be a few clicks away. Remember that PowerPoint slides are not meant to be used as a teleprompter, so using these eye-catching charts is a great way to deliver a visual feast while you deliver the all-important “voice-over”.
